Rob Chrispijn (1944) is a Dutch producer and lyricist. From 1970 on Chrispijn made all the album covers and publicity photo’s for Herman van Veen and other artists attached to the Harlekijn Holland music label, like Hauser Orkater, Internationale Nieuwe Scene, Joost Nuissl, Loeki Knol and Harry Sacksioni. He has his first succes as a lyricist when Herman van Veen lays eyes on his Dutch translation of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Suzanne’, which leads to a monster hit and longtime creative partnership with van Veen, composer/pianist Erik van der Wurff and composer/guitar player Harry Sacksioni.

Chrispijn has been a professor at the Kleinkunstacademie in Amsterdam for decades and has written for a lot of other Dutch artists as well. To name a few: Stef Bos, Conny Vandenbos, Lenette van Dongen, Hans Dorrestijn, Peter Faber, Marcel de Groot, Frank Groothof, Angela Groothuizen, Frans Halsema, Leoni Jansen, Loeki Knol, Lenny Kuhr, Paul de Leeuw, Liesbeth List, Heddy Lester, Loes Luca, Gerard van Maasakkers, Guus Meeuwis, Danny de Munk, Tom Oosterhuis, Joost Prinsen, Harry Sacksioni, Ernst Daniël Smid, Ramses Shaffy, and Lori Spee.

His best lyrics from 1968 until 1983 have been published in the publication ‘Chrispijn 15 jaar liedteksten.’ He starred in his own theater tour, ‘Ogen met uitzicht op zee’, performing his own poetry/lyrics, which resulted in a second publication with the same name. Oh, and let’s not forget the volumes ‘Liedteksten’ and ‘Onverklaarbaar gelukkig’ (for which he collaborated with his old friends Martin Melchers and Fred Nordheim).

Rob is an avid lover of mushrooms and is chairman of the Dutch Mycological society. He wrote ‘Champignons in de Jordaan’ (1999) about mushrooms in Amsterdam, and co-operated on ‘Verspreidingsatlas van de paddenstoelen van Nederland’ (2000).
