Scott Campbell (Scott C.) is an author, illustrator and video game art director living in Los Angeles, California. He is the author and illustrator of Hug Machine (Atheneum, 2014), Adventures In Drawing: A Guided Sketchbook (Insight Kids, 2018), and the young readers graphic novel series Cabin Head and Tree Head (Tundra, 2025). He has additionally illustrated numerous children’s books including SKULLS! (Atheneum, 2019),Sleepy the Goodnight Buddy (Little, Brown, 2018), the Zombie In Love series (Atheneum, 2011 and 2014), XO OX: A Love Story (Roaring Brook, 2017), and If Dogs Run Free (Atheneum, 2013). Campbell art directed the critically acclaimed video gamesPsychonauts and Brutal Legend forDouble Fine Productionsas well as providing concept designs for many others. His ongoing web series Great Showdowns, and his Double Fine Action Comics have both been collected into publications. A San Jose, California, native, Scott has a degree in Illustration from the San Francisco Art Academy, and has exhibited internationally.
